Frequently asked questions

Can I recover the original text from a hash?

No. A hash function computes a one-way digest and does not provide decryption.

Can I use this for password storage?

No. Password storage needs a dedicated KDF such as Argon2id, scrypt, or bcrypt with salts and work factors.

Is the text uploaded?

No. Web Crypto computes the digest in the browser; the original text is not sent to a DevDesk server.
